  1. Felton Volunteer Fire Fighters Association - Secretary/Treasurer & Vice President

Growing up in a small town in the Santa Cruz Mountains I experienced the power and effectiveness of communities coming together and have always felt strongly that it was everyone’s responsibility to serve for the benefit of the greater good.  Just before moving to Redwood City in 1997 I served as a firefighter/EMT for the Felton Volunteer Fire Department; learning what it meant to literally put my life on the line for my community.

My family and I moved to Redwood City from the Santa Cruz Mountains in 1997 when I took a position with Peninsula Covenant Church.  It didn’t take long to decide this was “home” and to begin getting involved in the community.  I was appointed to the Planning Commission in 2001; reappointed unanimously in ’04 and ’07 and served 2 back-to-back terms as Chairperson.  I love Redwood City and all it has to offer.  My daughters, Jessi, Heather and Megan love living, working, going to school, playing sports, and serving in our community and beyond.
